Replacing synchros

It looks like my 3rd gear and possibly 4th gear synchros are going out. Had the fluid changed (correct oil used) and now it is grinding. So the mechanics say its the synchros showing wear. SHould I just have the synchros replaced or is there more work to have done (clutch?) if doing this. Also what kind of time/money does this entail? Car is 1995 9000 Aero 5 speed, 106xxxmiles. thanks
