Thanks Lu,
Here's what I found yesterday afternoon. The cruise control light is obviously tied in with the PRNDL stick. When the car is in Park, the cruise control is inhibited. I realized yesterday after the cruise control light on the dash started working again. It's been working ever since. I believe the switch on the shifter is a little gummy. Seems to be fine now.
Now, the pictogram. Here's where I need your assistance. The car is a recent new purchase, so I didn't realize how this thing is suppose to operate until yesterday. The pictogram is constantly lit up showing the two headlights are out. Yesterday, my son got in the passenger door, his door showed it was ajar on the pictogram. He (re)shut the door and the whole pictogram went out momentarily. It then came back on showing the (red) headlights were out. It was at that point that I realized how this thing is supposed to work. I'm thinking somehow these two issues are related in that the headlights show unoperative and the high beam indicator is not working (but sometimes does).
Looking forward to your response!
JSB
