It is not enough slack to run the wire over pulleys.>>> Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Tue, 23 Sep 2003 09:46:37 In Reply to: How to re attach mechanical wire for power window, kemosaabi, Mon, 22 Sep 2003 21:41:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It's kind of a tricky way to do it using a wise grip to grab the white adjuster knob (with several grooves on) and route the wire fully over one pulley and halfway over the other holding it in place with your thumb.
After that you need to use the wisegrip and pull the white knob and wiresleeve to overcome the tension of the spring (at motor unit) while pushing the last part of the wire over the pulley.
It is also very important that you make sure the wire haven't wounded itself up inside motor when coming dislodged from pulleys and that the two grey sleeves aren't broken (right where the wire enters the motor).
If that's the case, you need to buy a new wire kit.
The sled that pulls window up and down is also prone the breaking but cannot be bought as a spare part, in that case you need a new regulator.
