given the fact that each car/engine is different to begin with.
I'm sure Saab conducted research to analyze this, and more than likely recorded it somewhere. But I don't think anyone here knows the exact difference in hp between the differing levels of fuel octane. However, it is felt as you drive the car, there's no doubt about that!
But, the fact remains that running premium fuel (ie.: 92+ octane) will result in more boost on both the Aero and CSE (fpt), as well as lower the mpg's due to what Michael Smith had explained. Once you use the lower octane, the ECU lowers boost to avoid detonation. When you put premium back in, it will take some time for the ECU to re-adapt to this "better" fuel.
