Manual Boost control for 96 CS manual

I've done all the research and have deceided to put in a manual boost control to get a little more omph from the low boost turbo. There seems to be very little chance of getting a 2nd hand ECU and valve from a CSE here in Australia and new upgraded ECU's are way too expensive.
I'm going to get the 'Grainger valve', but know that the first things I MUST do are install a boost guage and air-fuel ratio monitor.
My questions are; (1) for the boost guage, can I 'T' off one of the vacumm lines for the heater in the dash area or will this only give me vacumm, not boost pressure; and (2) does anyone know what pin-out I should use from the ECU to run the air/fuel ratio monitor.
I would rather do all the wiring/plumbing without having to run hoses/wires through the firewall.
Any suggestions or comments welcome.
