How much metal is too much metal on trans plug?

Recently I developed a whine in 3rd gear in the 5sp trans in my 1994 Aero with 112k miles. This is the first time I've drained the trans oil and I found metal shavings on the drain plug (see picture). Is this the normal amount of metal I should have expected to see or is this excessive and an indication of a problem? Besides refilling with 10w30 GTX dino oil (Aero Guy's recommendation) is there anything else to do at this time?
Thanks.
