No special tool needed to remove fuel lines, but it is Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Fri, 10 Oct 2003 14:42:23 In Reply to: Removing fuel lines without breaking plastic fitting, Daren, Fri, 10 Oct 2003 12:28:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
a special tool to loosen the big plastic nut that holds fuel pump down into tank.
When fuel pump assembly is exposed, try to spray some lubricant or oil into each fuel line cup. Carefully wiggle and rotate the fuel line back and forth to get the oil as close around the upper O-ring as possible.
After that it's just a matter of slowly pulling the line up while you wiggle it a little.
When new pump is installed you just need to lubricate the O-rings a little bit and they go back down without a problem.
