I drove it twice, Took it to 90 and jammed on the brakes, stopped quickly and obviously ABS works..shifts smooth as silk, idle is solid as a rock. No temp problems. Tossed and turned all thursday night and went back again friday. Took another look underneath and noticed the only really clean, fresh looking component was the tranny. Maybe a recent replacement? Got it for my top, not a penny more price (with input from this forum) Will try to contact the P/O for info as I bought at a Salvation army auto sale. Found the exhaust leak was a small hole on forward muffler-patched for now. Replaced the drivers halogen bulb and one tail light bulb. Noticed it was loosing coolant at water pump. Ordered a pump, took old one out and started mounts today. Having a real learning experience there! Upside is when I pulled the fender well found that the vac? hose had popped off the carbon cannister. Could that have been why the boost gauge never went into the white and the Cruise control didn't work? will find out tommorow when I finish up-- Certainly one less thing to fail smog for, anyway. Also found while under the wheel well, the inner passenger side CV boot clamp was loose and I will be able to replace it with little trouble. Took about 6 years of oxidation and water spotting off the paint saturday and it looks much better. Really great to have the online support and feedback--John
