the first thing you're going to come to grips with in >95 is an extra 500 pounds.

My 900T tipped that scales at 2700, my '86 9000T at 2850 and my 97 9000 at 3240. I've got my current 9000 to handle pretty good and it makes tremendous power but it doesn't have the nimble feeling of my '86 and nothing even close to my 900T.

The other advice that I can pass along; budget for a fair amount of preventive maintnence.

Clutch 100-120k
Water pump 80-100k
CV Boots 80-100k
Serpentine Belt 50k
Belt tensioner 50k
Idler Wheel 50k
Idler pulley 50k
Heater Blowers - at the slightest sign of trouble which is about 50k.

Having owned several 9000s; 95,96,97 I just replace these parts periodically without waiting for them to go bad.

Might not be the cheapest way to go, but it makes 9000s much more fun to own. Otherwise it seems like there's always something.
