I bought some sort of silicone-based grease at NAPA. They told me this will hold up far better than a spray silicone application. I was putting in new bushings, so I was fortunate that I could get the lubricant on all the critical interior surfaces. Don't know whether you'd be able to use the grease to any great effect without removing the bushings...
