Here's one way to look at a high-mileage 9000

Hi,
I have an Aero with just about 140,000 miles. I'll tell you that 140,000 is no where NEAR too much because I love the car and it runs like a dream (usually).
I got it with 112,000 and I can tell you the way I see it, the car is worth more to me now then it was at the mileage I bought it at. Of course, its real value has depreciated, but since I got it, I have done the fuel pump, DI cassette, heater core, and blower motor, and also a whole bunch of minor things. This is my no means an exhaustive list of all the expensive repairs that a 9000 with 100,000 + miles tends to need (I might need a clutch one day, I don't know), but it is a big chunk of the more common ones, as far as I can tell from reading this board. So one way to look at it is, if the car is in good shape, and it is high mileage, it has probably already recieved some of the more expensive repairs, meaning you don't need to worry about them(unless you plan to drive the car another 140,000 miles). Can the owner tell you what has been done recently? Good luck!
Annie
