Strange over heating problem 90 9KT

Ok guys here’s one that I hope you can figure out, if I let the engine (90 9KT) idle for awhile it will run hot because the fan doesn’t kick in, then when I shut the engine off the ACC will stay on for the same length of time that the fan would run for after shutting off the engine, now this doesn’t happen all the time most of the time the fan will kick in when it’s supposed to, but lately it’s been happening more often. Any ideas on what this could be?
Thanks!
