Hi,
If there is no blue smoke and oil isn't on the outside in a puddle then its probably passing thru the turbo cooling the dead metal. So its probably OK from that perspective, especially if you say the level read fine and doesn't fall over time.
Driving with a blown turbo is NO fun, because you have pretty low compression engine with 2.3 liters of displacement with a piece of metal blocking 60% of the intake path.
Having said that, I drove an 86 9k T for a year with a ceased turbo, before that my friend Kyle drove it for a year with a ceased turbo and before that his mom drove for years with a ceased turbo. I never had any problems with the oil.
The car did felt very slow, especially on the highway going up hills.
I hope you replace the turbo soon, '91 was the best year for Saab 9000, its a shame to see it crippled like this.
