a 1995 with switchable TCS.
Having a switchable TCS doesn't mean you can switch off TCS and bypass your TCS problem. On the other hand, I see very few posts about later TCS systems having problems. I would guess either there were so few cars with TCS in later years or later TCS systems were much better than earlier ones or both.
1993 Aero TCS isn't switchable but I think you can add a switch. 1994-1995 Aeros had switchable TCSs. There is no TCS in 1996-97 model years.
From my sample of one, TCS has not given me any trouble, if you do not want a TCS car then find one without it. The ECU is slightly different for TCS cars, so if you are thinking of replacing the ECU with a performance ECU then it is better to find a non-TCS car as that eliminates some uncertainty if you run into trouble with an upgraded ECU. BTW, you can upgrade the ECU on a TCS car as well.
