I just went through a similar experience. I had an Eriksson tranny, new clutch, pressure plate, slave and throwout bearing installed by a "connection" last January. I saved nearly $2k over the local dealer. The tranny had a crack that leaked oil into the bell housing but had no other side effects. Eriksson gave me a new tranny and reimbursed me for the labor. I had the same guy install the second one, but he wanted to use a second new slave to be certain it wouldn't leak. After he was done I started experiencing clutch slip when the boost would come up.
I finally brought it to my favorite Saab Master Tech who left the local dealership and is now operating his own shop. The other guy had installed a 94 and up slave (I have a 93), switched the hydraulic feed line with the bleeder on the slave, used anti-sieze on the input shaft that traveled into the clutch disc (causing the slippage) used a bolt instead of the taper pin for the shift linkage and forced a SAE nut onto one of the transmission mounting studs.
So after my second tranny, third in and out, third slave and second clutch kit I'm back in business and better than ever.
If you ever need a mechanic in the Amherst area give me a jingle.
regards
Peter (Western MA USA)
