There is a pressure relief valve by the oil pump on the right side of the engine by the oil pump. It is a capped cylinder with a spring. The cap that holds it in is 17 or 18 mm and is in front of the crank shaft pulley. It can be accessed by pulling off the rubber cover of the inner fender liner. I don't want to alarm you, but my oil pressure light came on on my '91 9000. I took the relief valve out and found it to be scratched. I polished it and put it back in. This was on the advise of one of the sites (this happens sometimes on the 2.3 I was told). The light went out. I had put a gauge on the engine and had zero pressure when the light was on. The light went on two other times in a year. Did same prcedure and seemed fine. The light went on when I was 400 miles frome home and the engine seized. I think it had marginal pressure for a long time. I have that engine in my garage on a stand for parts now. I am going to be installing an oil pressure gauge on my "new" '91 9000. I found one with a bad transmission and put the trans from my old one in it. My advice is change the oil and inspect that relief valve. Then put in an oil pressure gauge so you know what's going on in your engine. I can tell you from experience that the light should be a green dollar sign not a red oil can. Too late by the time it stays on.
Good Luck, Murph.
