Have a look at this site, the torque steering has to do mainly with the steering offset (D in pic), so its not (only) the width of the tyre but also the wheel offset ET, narrower (Saab) wheels have more offset and so less steering offset, look at your manual (15*5.5" wheels = ET 39, 16*6.5" wheels = ET 27 or something like that). I think the small wheels with ET 39 have zero steering offset (I currently have this on my wintertyres, very nice). Abbott uses ET 30 wheels, think about it.
Reminder: larger ET means less wide track = not so "nice" looking. Less track also means less traction and less torque steer.
Alignment definitely also helps, my recommendation is to set -1deg camber (with magicamber screws) and 1mm toe in (=0.04deg per side on 16" wheels). Both within tolerances given. Go to a good shop and ask to be present while they do it. Ask them if they know (can calculate) how many degrees on each wheel 1mm toe in is....
