Saw the Eagle, but not in operation. The Mohawk looked like a more robust unit. There were more positions to lock the lift from descending - IIRC, the Eagle only had 2 or 3. The place that sells the Mohawk, Tool & Equpment Connection, Inc., is in North Attleboro. They are the regional distributor and have them there and on display to illustrate their operation. They are also one of the State of MA inspectors for hydraulic lifts that are used in automotive and commercial truck repair facilities - they have a tremendous amount of experience where hydraulic lifts are concerned. The 48" Mohawk, despite Andrews claim that only a full height lift has worth, makes it very convenient to do brake jobs, exhaust systems, or other jobs that are a pain in the a** when one is lying on their backs trying to turn long ratchets or breaker bars underneath a vehicle. My garage has a ceiling height of 10', and it's ideal for lifting either my Silverado or Saab when I want to do a brake job. It's also great to use as a large table to place my John Deere 318 upon when it needs work - it's so much nicer not having to bend over to work on the underside! I would strongly recommend you make it over to N. Attleboro and compare the Mohawk with the Eagle. The people at T&E Connection, Inc. are very friendly and don't succumb to any sales pressuring.
