another reason I think the /whine' is attributed to the Passenger side inboard CV, is that this, while aside from being very faint, coordinated with 'gear lash' when I get it.....in other words it osscilates somewhat. Hard to describe. Not high pitched at all and dissapears under load. If it where a static bearing such as the center support bearing, it would seem that it should be more continuous, as that bearing is housed and supports the rigid inner axle.
The question is how thrifty should I be. Do I want to go in and just replace the inboard tripod bearing, and carrier bearing ('inner driver'), and hope that that is it, or go ahead and get the support bearing as well, and add the driver's side as well. There is far less play on the drivers side, but I have a gearbox oil leak from the axel seal on the driver's side, so I guess I should get it all done at once..jus that an additiona inner driver (for DS) is another 150$ including tripod.
she adds up;-)
