First long drive in my 9000--what a car! ++

After buying my '96 CSE in September I've been itching for a decent road trip in it. Driving it home to NH from NJ when I bought it was OK, but I wanted more. And I just got it. Had to do a 2-day round-trip from NH (near Nashua) to Rochester, NY Monday and Tuesday. Some 720 miles and 13 hours later all I can say is YOW! This is one amazing long-road car.
I do a route across part of NH and MA on mostly rural roads with some great twisty bits, some big hills, fine scenery, then pick up the NY Thruway east of Albany. Get off at Exit 45.
In high winds and snow squalls Monday the car just hauled along. Quiet, stable and comfortable. Coming back last nite it was cold and windy and there was a lot of ice and snow in the Berkshires but the 9K didn't care. The turbo flattens the hills and makes passing on 2-lanes a no-sweat move. Averaged about 27 mpg, including running about 80 most of the way between Albany and Roch.
This is the kind of car you can easily do 1000 miles a day in, solo. And do it again the next day.
Can't wait for the next trip.
Keep Saabin'
Noel
