Ever swapped 9000 seats for recaros?

Greetings, everyone. Have any of you ever replaced the stock front seats in a 9000 with Recaros? I've been tempted to do so for years. I find the stock 9000 seats too high, too narrow, and too flat. Even at the lowest setting, the stering wheel feels way down in my lap, and the top of the gauges is obscured by the wheel rim. Enter a turn at high speeds, and I'm sloshing out of the seat like I'm in a delivery van. Memories of my old GTI's suggest that a Recaro is the answer. I'm considering the purchase, but I'd love to hear from someone who's done the swap. Did the Recaro mounting brackets work OK? Did the new seat sit lower than the old one (mine's a manual, cloth CS seat, already at its lowest setting)? Would the Recaro's wider bolsters interfere with the shifter, or with entry and exit? For a big car, the 9000's seating area seems rather narrow and constricted. I'm looking at a used seat, so there's no easy return & refund if this transplant doesn't take. I'd appreciate your informed advice...
