There are a lot of tire choices. Balance what folks say here with reviews at Tire Rack and how much you want to spend.Someone is bound to mention the Nokian WR as a good snow and even year-round tire. Have a couple on my C900 and they are great.
On my 9K I have 205/60x15 Dunlop Graspic snows on basic 9K alloys for winter. They came new with the car in Sept and work well, but haven't had them in heavy snow yet. Are fine on icy roads, though. A bit noisy on dry roads, but not too bad.
I have Aero wheels with 205/55x16 Toyo Proxes for summer. They also came new on the car, but are not the greatest.
For New England in winter 4 snows is the way to go. Put them on used alloys or steel rims. Then swap to gumballs on your nice alloys in summer.
