Erratic idle on 87 9000T

This problem on my 87 turbo has me stumped. When warm, my idle steadily goes up and down, from about 1500-800. On start up, it wants to die unless I give it gas. When warm and driving, it wants to die when pushing in clutch. When driving, it doesn't usually die, but once in while it does.
I have cleaned my throttle body and aic valve. I have checked for any vacuum leaks. My bypass valve (hooter) is good. My air mass meter is almost new. When I disconnect my aic valve when warm, the idle smoothes right out. I know many have fixed their idle problems by cleaning the aic, but I wonder if my is really bad.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
