Replace your heater core and blower motor now or you will impact the longevity of your headliner as well.

I replaced all three over this last holiday break, and for a novice like myself it was surprisingly easy.

Quasimotos site has a great step by step how to replace heater core and blower motor....took my son and I 5 hours total, did not have to remove wiper arms or windshield splash screen as some sites suggest. Just have to be patient and work carefully. Blower motor was definitely going out, with only 60,000 miles on our 1991 9000cd, the blower motor looked like it had 300,000 miles on it.....

NEW UPDATED Parts were the cheapest at EEuroparts.com with fast service and delivery. Think I paid $58 for the blower motor and $98 for the upgraded heater core "kit" with heater core. All went in smoothly.

Headliner.....do it yourself, its easy as long as once again,,,,,take your time. They are fragile and will bend and break easily, but with patience they come out and go in easily. Joann Fabrics sells headliner material for $10 a yard, it only takes about two yeards. The headliner glue can be bought at NAPA or Walmart, it is a large spray can of 3M automotive adheasive......

So for about $200 and 7 hours total of our time, we saved between $1000 and $2000 quoted by dealer for the blower motor and core and another $250+ on the headliner.

It just seems a little daunting to get started, my advice, roll it into the garage, break out the tools, and dig in.......as I told my son, the worse thing that can happen it we screw it up, and then we go to the dealer to fix, the advantage then is the dealer does not have so much to take apart....but all will go well it you take your time and follow directions.
