Yesterday, my wife called me at work and told me that our 1990 9000t would not start. Well, it has been below zero for a week or so now and I am not sure how old the battery is. Thus I assumed that the battery had given up. No big deal.

I get home and jump start the car. As soon as I get it out of the garage it just dies. It will not turn over. Then the most bizarre thing happened.
The marker lights were on even though the ignition was off. I fiddled with the light switch and to my horror the ignition came on when the light switch was in the on position. The marker lights would not go off.

I disconnected the battery and reconnected it and themarker lights went off and the ignition/light switch thing ceased. I jumped the car again and it is running fine.

I tried the car this morning and it turned over really slowly but did start.

I think therefore that the battery probably does need replacing (the voltage on the display reads 14.4V when the car is running) and I will take it to be tested.

But does anyone have any idea what happened with the marker light ignition thing? Did I just enter the Twilight Zone or was there some other reason?
