The only two things that could have gone awry here are either the speakers got disconnected or your radio is broken. As Lu said, make sure that the connector to the radio is attached and clean. Also make sure that at the speakers there is a physical connection. If you are all good there then the only other thing that could be wrong is your radio is fried. Speakers generally do not stop making any sound at all when they break. They are only really made of a wire, a magnet, and a cone attached to the wire to create preasure so not much can break on them. When speakers go bad they tend to sound more and more staticy and unclear over time. This is due to the surrounds on the cone wearing out and the paper cone hitting the metal mounting bracket as it extends and retracts without a guide.
