Well I've been loosing coolant for the last month, not very noticable however. I've had a wet distributor side (near headgasket) for about a year.
No internal symtoms of gasket failure, ie no clean CCs or white smoke. In fact that car runs beautifully!
How common is it for the headgasket to leak at the distributor corner?
HTe gasket is now 5 years old, and over 100K km old. Driven hard ie high boost.
Well I guess I'll take (sound) Anders advice: I'll pull the head while I'm doing the timing stuff. I still want to drop the sump after this job to do the seal (it's leaking quite a lot).
I'm sure I'll post my good fortunes/disasters in a couple weeks when I get all of this crrap done.
Thankfully I have the factory manuals... should prepare me well for AME MOC in the Canadian air force, my new career move;-) aperently having a BAhons in archaeology does not lend to job satisfaction, haha....well not in BC anyway...
