Removing fwd bracket is better and not that hard..

but it does take a bit of time to get the alternator and p/s pump loose and then back in. Don't forget to put the bolt in the forward upper mount before bolting the bracket back on. You can't get it in after the bracket is on. I forgot (even after I read in in another post here on this board) and I had to remove both accessories to get at the bracket again.
Another atvantage of removing the bracket and alternator is you can install new brushes in alternator at the same time.
