I basically "made" a cardboard box to house them.
Take a large box, open it up (spread it apart and lay it down flat), then roll it around the bars (which you have already secured together with packing tape or rope), and seal the ends. Kind of like gift-wrapping the way us men do...
I sent them out that way, and they were received perfectly (from CT to CA).
I have shipped other things that actually did not need any packaging. I sold and shipped rubber floor mats by rolling them up, securing it all with packing tape, and mailing it just like that (no box needed).
Just be sure to confirm how the establishment wants it packaged. The USPS does not care, but FedEx requires everything be in a box (including things that are already boxed). If not, then you pay an extra premium.
And definitely ship with 'Shipping Confirmation' if using USPS to confirm that the package made it to the destination! FedEx and UPS already include that, as well as up to $50 shipping insurance, but not the USPS. I have found FedEx to be the cheapest when shipping within the U.S. (but for international, USPS is the way to go), and if you use your AmEx card, it gives you a discount.
BTW: these were parts to my now-sold '96 900S, so no need to ask if I have anymore parts left for a 9000....
Good Luck!
Joe
