.....the hard part is the embedded software. Parts/hardware-wise, they're all the same, and appear to be a very efficient design, cost-wise. Eprom emulators aren't that expensive, and I'm sure there are people on this board that can build something cheaper. It's the knowledge of fuel, ignition and other engine mgt. maps that's difficult, to me..... anyway, the earlier 9000's had removable eproms, but with T5 it's even simpler - most of the required logic is built into the motorola microcontroller and the rest can be put in with a PC.
