Saab 9000 - Won't start

I have a '88 Saab 9000 Turbo and when I turn the ignition key to the
start position nothing happens. No click, no sound from the starter at
all. The battery and connections are good. I checked the starter wire
when the key is turned to the start position and no voltage on the wire.
At the ignition switch, there is one (and only one) wire that jumps to
12V when the key is turn to the start position. I can start the car by
taking a wire from the positive wire and jumping it to the ignition wire.

Now my question is, is this just a bad wire/connection from the switch or
is there a relay in the path? I don't have wiring diagram. If someone
could help me I would be very appreciative. Thanks in advance.
