I am having similar problems with an 88 9000T automatic. This car has the 2.0 liter engine, while yours probably has the 2.3 liter(at least my 91 CDE did). It is the same loss of acceleration power. It only happens at highway speeds, after I've been driving for a while and everything is fully warmed up. But there is no "bucking", just no power. I have noticed that when this happnes, the fuel consumption on the EDU drops down to about 11mpg or so, which leads me to believe that the injectors are bad and are sticking open, or the engine control is bad and telling the injectors to open, thus flooding the engine with too much gas and not enough air to burn it. This would lead to no power. I havn't dug too deeply into this problem yet, as it just recently started, and it only happens every once in a while. I find that if I back off on the gas, and coast down between 10 and 15 mph, it goes away and I can continue driving.
Sorry I don't have any solutions, but try slowing down and see that works for you for now.
