not satisfied with NG900, looking for the real car...

I had bought a 1996 900 S / 93 K miles from alabama, tha car is beautiful, in good shape and great to drive but there is a LOT of GM interventions in the general design. I hate the behaviour in curves, the pedals are so close that i can hardly drive with my snow boots... Wind comes into the care through the door seals while I exceed 130 km/h which makes me the impression that I have a Saab on the frame of a cavalier...
I was told that REAL saabs are no longer existing since the NG for the 900 model but that was not the case with the 9000
What years should I look at the most to get a more reliable car?? I was told to look from 94 to 97 and take a turbo. Is the aero more difficult to maintain? I know it's real fun to drive but I'm looking for a RELAIBLE car that will not ruines me like my 900 does (2000$ of varoius repairs in 2 months). I had the balancing shaft problem with the 2.3L engine so does it also occures in the 9000 as well?
What's an acceptable mileage to buy a 94-97 model? Do they have hydraulic clutch? Should I keep my money and buy a 95 later?
Thanks for any help.
