Since you have already finished the job, my $.02 won't be worth much to you, but I'll post it anyway in case someone else is going down the same road. First, I had an old flex pipe lying around from a '91 which uses the braided stainless steel section instead of the later spiral style ('94-up)which in my opinion looked very fragile and which had already failed twice on my car (may be due to bad motor mounts as someone suggested). I cut the braided section from the earlier pipe and mig welded it into the '94 pipe. These braided flex sections can be purchased new at the local parts store for about $35 if you don't happen to have an old one laying around. Secondly, I would suggest buying stainless steel fasteners for the connections and make sure to use plenty of anti-seize on the threads.
