This is the three different models I have seen so far. Saab might have brought another one out by now since the right one is over one year old.
The left bolt has been in use from 1985 to approx 97-98.
The middle one is what I bought about 3 years ago, and that's when I started to have problems with stretching them using the old torque values and using oil on the threads.
The right one is the latest I have seen and seems to be identical to the middle one except the bronze tint instead of grey. They both have the same marking on top of head, BUFO, whereas the old one say KX.
After some research back than, I found out that Saab lowered the torque specs to 40 Nm, 60 Nm and 90 degree, instead of the older 60 Nm, 80 Nm and 90 degree and that NO OIL was to be applied since they were pre coated with an lubrication film.
What seems odd in this picture is that now, Saab have lots of problems with leaking/seeping head gaskets (from around 97 and up) on the 4 cyl engine but hardly any head gasket problems on the V6 (the V6 head bolts are torqued to hell and back)????
