You don't mention if you've tried cleaning the contacts at the throttle body, which is often the culprit for early TCS woes. Perhaps give that a try.
I think the behavior you've described (much like the occasional behavior I'm experiencing) FEELS like a throttle body thing, in that it affects the car's driving characteristics independent of one's foot movements -- a sign to my logic that the pedal and TB are momentarily not communicating or a signal isn't right, and the TB tries to compensate for a half-second before an error code prevents disaster. Given the heat of the engine compartment, dirt, and the frequency of posts about TBs, that's why I'd suspect it.
Other perspectives out there?
