Timing Chain Tensioner/Head Removal/Head bolts Posted by PGAero [Email] ![]() ![]() |
I am ready to remove the head to replace the head gasket, except for the timing chain tensioner. How is this removed? Do I back it out by removing the whole threaded assembly from the back side of the head (you know, by the alternator) or is there some other trick that is easier.
Also, I ordered head bolts from eeuroparts, and they don't seem to match with either the "new" or "old" descriptions I've been reading about on this board. Mine (which i received just last week) have no threads on the last +/- 15mm (1/2") and the have a loose washer.
I'm planning on using the originally spec'd torque values since I haven't heard from eeuroparts (or Saab for that matter) that they should be different. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Peter
