You can fit an over-ride swich that allows you to turn it off in a 1993 model. There is a Saab supplied kit with everything you need, so when you want some wheelspin just push the button once below 35mph and TCS stays off untill you restart the car.
I have had it for many years on my 1993 Aero and it gives you the best of both worlds. Do a search, all the details of the install are in the postings.
