You Simon.
I think the repairs should be around 900$ labor. It's a ton of work. While you're that deep do the Valve guides, mill the head do a valve job and replace the 30$ chain. I just did all this and didn't replace the chain, then two months later my car was running shitty, it was difficult to diagnose, I finally found my timing chain was stretched. I did the old remove the cams, connect the new chain to the old chain removed the plugs, spun the crank over many time to wind the new chain in old one out, the set TDC ball peaned the new chain together and the car ran great. Remember most parts are cheap and labor isn't. If you ever get deep in to working on your car my theory is do it once and do it right. If your 300 miles from home you will be thinking perhaps I should take it easy that old timing chain has 100,000 miles and how many million perhaps 50,000,000 revolutions. 30$ and you can inspect the chain guides while it's open.
Cheers mate.
