or at least in mine (1993 version) you see that if the car is driven in conditions with lots of idling, repeated stop-go driving and/or short distances in cold weather where the engine can't warm up properly, changing the oil at 10,000 km intervals is recommended. Otherwise it's typically be 12,000 km. That's for Saab turbo spec oil and on the face of it your synthetic should last longer.
However, in North America much more frequent oil changes seem to be the norm. The reason may be either sensible preventative maintenance, vague nostalgia for the T-model Ford, or just PCN-RNR (ie. profligate consumption of a non-renewable natural resource).
