So heres the deal. I bought the car about three weeks ago, and have been having boost issues thus far. Usually, the turbo boosts to about the first broken red line. It's not base boost, but it's defenetly not what the engine is capable of. After swapping in a friends BPC valve, which instantaneously gave me full boost, I was fairly sure that a bad BPC was the culprit. I returned the "good" valve to my freind and figured it best to try and clean out my valve. After some WD-40 and some slinging, I put the valve back on, and was getting the same mediocre boost that I had been getting the whole time. Ah well. However, about a week later, the boost began to increase until about two days ago, when full boost returned.
at the same time, I noticed a problem with the idle. after start up, the needle would rise to about 2700, then drop to a near stall before levelling out. At a stoplight, the engine began pulsing, revving up to 2500, then back down to a normal idle, in a rapid cycle.
Could the two Boost issue and idle issue be related? Would the re-appearance of full boost point elsewhere than the BPC as the problem?
Any advice would be very welcome.
Thanks
Luke
