Well, sort of.

My problem was two-fold: shot PCV check valve and bad O2 sensor.

The PCV check valve situation was found only because the one in my '93 900T convertible was dead and I needed to drive it, so I decided to take the one out of the 9000 (they're the same) and use it in the 900. When I removed it, that one was also blown apart. I bought two new ones (albeit of the old design since that's all eEuroparts carries, but they work and they were cheap), and installed them in both cars.

The 9000 now has a lot of boost again, and it stays. Almost. I now have my CEL illuminated due to faulty O2 sensor, which is probably backing off the boost from full-on and for any length of time.

The O2 sensor dilemma (which most people who have been following my threads on this situation might remember) is another issue. Recap: My CEL came on back in August with faulty O2 sensor codes (P0130/P0133). I bought a new one and installed it, and had the CEL extinguished. Right from the start, I had base-boost only. Within a week, the CEL came back on again with only the P0130 code. I sent that sensor back, and they sent me another. This time, the CEL didn't come back on, but I suffered with base-boost and medium-boost, full-boost extremely occasionally. So I took my original sensor (I had saved it), cleaned the tip with a propane torch, and re-installed it. Now I was able to achieve full-boost more often, but still not every time. But it was a lot better than with the other "new" sensors. Then my CEL came back on (of course, since this sensor was the bad one to begin with) about 2 weeks ago. I'm getting the same codes as I did in August (P0130/P0133).

Since my boost is pretty strong now (but not perfect), I am going to attribute that fix to the new PCV check valve. Once I get yet another O2 sensor (this time from a dealer, since I have heard that some of the aftermarket Bosch sensors do not always work as good as stock from a dealer), I am going to assume my problem will be completely resolved.

Bill Homer, maybe this might be your problem (PCV check valve)?
