as Micahel said, all 'real' performance upgrades relate to increasing boost pressure. Check the TSN sponsors, many of them have reverse engineered APC boxes that allow up to 20psi of boost without comprimising knock control, for all years of early 9000s. HOWEVER, that high of boost requires a higher rated fuel pressure regulator (or a rise in rate), larger injectors, larger down pipe, etc...

you can produce the big boost with just an apc box, but it won't last long, as all you are producing is heat from your relatively small turbo.

a nice upgrade would be a Stage 1 APC (17psi max or so), a 3bar Fuel pressure regulator, and an adjustable vac/advance module that allows linear ignition retard under boost. THe latter is not absolutely necessary, but is nice to take advantage of the other upgrades.

this is just a start as ther are many things you can do.
