With the engine on the stand and the transmission on a dolly in my garage, there is not much to do tonight because I have several broken bolts to deal with. Can't open the timing chain cover because of a stripped torx screw.

First the power steering pump is stuck in ite bracket with one broken bolt in the engine compartment. I'll soak it with liquid wrench tonight before attempting to separate them.

I tried to extract the counter-sunk torx screw holding the tensioner bracket. Started to drill holes on the screw. I then thought I better get the screw first before going further. I don't want to drill the hole too deep past the bolt to put a hole in the timing cover. Eeuropeparts has one for $2.20.

Speaking of Eeuropeparts, for those of you who have been singing its praises (actually myself included), I suggest let's come to our senses and shop around. I have nothing against Eeuropeparts. Free shipping for orders more than $40 is great too and I have been buying from them recently because of that. But don't forget this is a free market. You get a better deal only if you shop around. Good thing I called Sobstory for the Sachs clutch kit. Their price for the kit is well over a hundred dollars cheaper than Eeuropeparts.

I think I'll leave plumbing on the turbo alone for now. Even though there is some rust on the pipe. Access is not terribly bad if I have to do it in car.

Drained the transmission fluid after coming home. As expected, it's pitch dark with some metal shavings on the magnet in the drain plug.
