I put these on my '95 CSE and would not purchase again.
The good: for my type of driving (not agressive), they handle great, ride well, and I've never felt safer in wet conditions. They are not too bad in light snow, and I'm just starting to notice treadwear after 14k miles.
That said .... the road noise, particularly at slower speeds, is annoying as h*%^. At highway speeds it is not so bad (as Peter eluded to in his post), but when running around town in the 35->45 mph zone, these tires drive me nuts.
For awhile I was convinced I had rubbing brake pads or warped rotors, as these tires "hummmmm" (and I mean real loudly) at slower speeds and when coming to a stop. After a recent service / test drive, my mechanic mentioned they were the noisiest tires he's ever heard.
I bought the tires after reading the rave reviews on TireRack. There are a couple reviews on TR's board from others (including Saab owners) that also comment on the noise. Is it the luck of the draw, or something about our 9000's that cause these to be noiser than on other cars? I wish I had returned them in the 30 day period, but kept trying to convince myself something else was wrong with the car. It's the tires!
Hope this helps -
Rick
