Defective left SRS sensor/harness is default error code Posted by Bill Homer [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: SRS Sensor/Harness-DIY???, Frank ![]() |
According to a previous post by Anders (Swedecar), the "defective left sensor" error code is kind of a "catch-all" for any defect that does not generate its own error code. I believe that most of us who have had an SRS fault for no particular reason have probably gotten that code - I certainly did.
After retrieving the error code, I had my light reset more than six months ago, and it hasn't (knock on veneer) reappeared - this despite my mechanic telling me to replace the sensor. I attribute the error code to a "voltage situation" due to starting the car on a rainy day with the lights and wipers activated (different driver who shall remain nameless). If you want to play it super safe, go with the suggestions from Les and David.
