I understand what you're saying about the DTC's and the "blinking codes", but the fact still remains that my CEL does not flash. I have had my CEL illuminated a number of times due to a faulty O2 sensor (I just had it extinguished this passed Saturday). Turning the key to "RUN" without the engine running does nothing. The CEL stays fully-lit.

I have a feeling those that have a '96 might have this feature since that was the model year that the transition from OBD-I to OBD-II was done.

Are there any other's out there that have a '97 or '98 where the CEL will flash when the engine is off, ignition on?
