Saab recommends transmission oil change (drain and refill) something like 35 or 65K miles. Some people change in 15K mile increments. If you don't know when it was last changed, change it now and again in a few thousand miles. The owners manuel says not to use sythetics, there may have been a specific synthetic recommended since then. Do not confuse the tranny oil type requirements recommended for other model Saabs. The filter and O rings can be reused, it's best to have new ones on hand before hand just in case.
