I remember you asking about the same thing a few months' ago, and I responded to you that I had the same sound. I had forgotten who it was that I had responded to.

Could this be causing a lack of boost? Although I "thought" I had resolved that issue (by replacing the spent PCV check valve), it seems it's still there. I get boost more often now, but it still is not everytime, and it doesn't stay on for long. It will reach close to 18psi, then jump back to 10psi and stay there (which is higher than base boost of 5psi).

I also thought that I was still having a problem with the O2 sensor, even though it's new and not causing my CEL to come on. I'm not ruling it out, but I'm searching for answers!

I tend to have great boost when the engine is cold. I normally do not lay into it with a cold engine, but I can feel the strength and pull as I give it just normal gas. Once it's fully warmed, that's when I never know if I'll have boost or not.

Actually, it seems that when I can hear (and feel, believe it or not) the roaring sound, I do get boost. It's not a typical exhaust-leak sound, but a true "roar" of rushing air, sort of like being in a wind tunnel. I can also feel it vibrate the engine (and all my mounts are new).

I have been thinking it was an exhaust leak somewhere, but if the leak was after the turbo, then how could that affect boost? All I would be loosing would be exhaust gases that the wastegate decided to let loose.

I've had the broken manifold bolt for about a year now, but the roaring sound has only been around for about 6 months.

Any light into my problem is definitely appreciated!!!!
