Keep in mind that both the clutch and brakes have a master cylinder. Clutch MCs for your year should be under $100, but if you're not experiencing clutch problems, that scenario is unlikely unfortunately.
I don't remember when ABS became standard, but it seems you probably have it in your car. If not, then a conventional rebuild or replacement of a brake MC shouldn't run you into much money for parts and labor. Maybe a few hundred. Read on if you do have ABS, however.
If your ABS MC is leaking, you must replace the entire pump assembly, which is your $750 item (used from a reputable boneyard). New, don't even ask! There would of course be the attendant labor costs of ABS pump R&R, which given the age of your car might be the Sign From Above that this car's day has come....
Here's hoping it's the clutch MC!
